How to create Faux blowdry using a curling tong

Using a large tong to create the movement and the mæne. rollers to set the shape.

  • First apply heat protection spray on dry hair.
  • Start the tonging at the roots and wrap all the hair in the tong horizontally.
  • Using the large rollers underneath and the XL rollers on top to give extra volume.
  • When applying the rollers make sure the ends are tucked smoothly around the roller to avoid buckling or tangles.
  • Two balancing clips either side of the roller to create even balanced volume when set.
  • Make sure your sections are neat to avoid tangling of the hair on removal.
  • Using the XL rollers through the top of the head without a parting to create max volume, doing this means the part can be whenever you like.
  • Set in rollers with a hairspray or texture spray if the hair struggles to hold movement, or if you have great hold use a shine spray.
  • Allow the hair to completely cool down before removing the rollers, this will result in maximum volume and longevity of the style.
  • Remove the balancing clips first then gently pull roller away from the head, make sure there is no hair trapped underneath the rollers then you can easily remove.
  • Brush through the hair with The Everyday brush to create that soft blowdry effect and add smoothness.
