Why your blowdry Isn't holding & how to fix It.

We all love that just stepped out of the salon feeling.

So why, when we try to recreate that blowdry at home, is it never quite the same? The answer is usually one of these four steps.

Step 1: Add volume from root to tip  Before you even pick up the hairdryer, think product. Volume mousse is essential for creating a foundation that holds. Apply a lightweight mousse to the roots, mid lengths, and ends to ensure long lasting lift, body, and movement. For finer hair, maene. recommends Color Wow XL Mousse, it provides volume without weighing strands down. For medium to thick hair, Label M Volume Mousse delivers structured hold while keeping hair touchably soft. This step gives the hair grip and supports the style, helping it maintain that freshly blowdried look all day.

Step 2: Blowdry technique and root lift start by drying the roots first on medium heat and medium speed, this protects the hair from excess heat and gives you better control with the hairdryer.

Pro tip: flip your head upside down while drying the roots for instant lift.

Work through the hair in sections using a medium round brush, placing the brush underneath each section to encourage root lift. Work to the ends before rolling the hair back onto itself. Take your time here, this step sets the shape.

Key: hair must be completely dry before moving on to tongs, rollers, or brushing. Any lingering dampness will cause volume to drop and your style to fall flat.

Step 3: Lock the shape with velcro rollers after blowdrying each section, the hair needs to be set into shape while it cools. This is where the maene. Volume Roller Pack comes in, rolling each section immediately after drying locks in volume at the roots and ensures long lasting lift and bounce.

Pro tip: If your blowdry tends to fall flat quickly, lightly wrap each section around a large barrel curling tong before rolling. This gives the hair extra structure and helps the style last significantly longer.

Step 4: Brush out for a long lasting finish never brush out your blowdry too early. Hair must cool completely before brushing, doing so too soon relaxes the bonds that hold the style, causing volume and bounce to drop. Once fully cooled, brush through with maene. The Everyday a boar bristle & nylon pin paddle brush designed to smooth, polish, and enhance shine without disturbing your shape.

The result? A blowdry that actually lasts.
